asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the serious financial position of many old-established football clubs, if he will give total remission of tax on those clubs whose attendance figures at any one match fall below 10.000 spectators.
§ 79. Brigadier Clarke
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware 31W that Purchase Tax has been among the causes resulting in the closing of a General Electric Company factory in Portsmouth; and if he will therefore relax the tax on electrical products in order to prevent similar factories from closing down elsewhere.
§ 80. Mr. Awbery
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to refund post-war credits to persons under 60 and 65 years of age, respectively, who have left this country to live permanently abroad, after they have been away five years.
