§ Mr. Llewellynasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will explain in detail how the ceiling price for council house tenders is arrived at.
§ Mr. SandysThe ceiling price for local authority house tenders is designed to ensure that local authorities do not pay more than a fair price for the houses they build. It is derived from a critical examination of actual prices submitted by 171W local authorities, and is kept under review. In considering tender prices, account is taken of any abnormal factors affecting the cost of a scheme.
