§ 86. Mr. Bellengerasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance the number of claims made by recalled reservists for National Service grants; how many of these claims have yet to be settled; and the average amount of the grant made.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThe total number of these applications which had reached my Department by 26th October was 5,197. Of these 4,953 have been settled. Of the number outstanding 204 have been received within the last 3 working days. In the case of the remainder it has been necessary to obtain further information in order to establish whether 101W the reservist is entitled to a grant. The average amount of the grants so far made is £2 5s. 2d. a week.
