HC Deb 21 November 1956 vol 560 c78W
59. Mr. Wade

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what new proposals Her Majesty's Government has put forward since 1954 for the setting up of a permanent international police force.

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

None. I would refer the House to the reply which ray hon. Friend gave to the hon. Member for Wembley, South (Mr. Russell) on 14th November. I think that this gave sufficient information to enable hon. Members to judge for themselves why Her Majesty's Government did not after 1954 put forward any new proposals for setting up a permanent international police force.
