HC Deb 09 May 1956 vol 552 c104W
5. Mr. Willey

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what progress has been made in the application of atomic energy to the propulsion of shipping.

Mr. Digby

Good progress is being made with the investigations and design studies which must precede the detailed design of a nuclear vessel, but ships powered in this way are not to be expected for some years.
