§ 80. Mr. Awbery
asked the Minister of Labour the incidence of lung cancer among workers in the nickel industry; and if he will have an inquiry made with a view to reducing it and diminishing the industrial causes as far as possible.
§ Mr. Carr
I regret that the information for which the hon. Member asks is not 81W available. The possibility of this disease being associated with certain nickel refining processes was first investigated by the medical inspectorate in 1933 and the question has been kept under close review ever since. I am advised that this hazard is controlled as far as present knowledge permits, and that no special inquiry is necessary.
