§ 47. Mr. Callaghanasked the Lord Privy Seal what official request has been made to the United States Government for a supply of enriched uranium for industrial use.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe recent offer by President Eisenhower to supply enriched uranium for industrial purposes does not apply to countries, such as the United198W Kingdom, which are already producing fissile material. The supply of enriched uranium for industrial purposes to this country by the United States would require an amendment of the Anglo-American agreement for co-operation on the civil uses of atomic energy, but as I told the right hon. Gentleman last week, my noble Friend the Lord President is examining the possibilities of further collaboration with the United States in this field.
