§ Mr. Iain MacleodOn 13th March, when I announced the introduction of the new Index of Retail Prices, I stated that a full Report on the 1953 household expenditure inquiry would be published towards the end of this year and that this would show details of the expenditure pattern of households wholly or mainly dependent upon National Insurance retirement or similar pensions, including National Assistance paid in supplementation or instead of such pensions.
