§ Mr. TurtonWhen the decision to proceed with immunisation this year had been taken on expert advice, detailed technical information was made available to medical officers of health of local health authorities—who are the people charged with performing the task—and this information was also given to the medical Press. This weekend, I have issued technical information to all general practitioners—although they will not themselves be performing the task in the first stage—so that they will be well informed to deal with any requests for advice from their patients. Already 105 local health authorities in England and Wales have applied for approval of their plans.
