§ Sir A. Bossomasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will introduce legislation to compel fertiliser manufacturers to keep their prices stable for at least 12 months, in view of the tendency for manufacturers to increase prices following an extension of the subsidy.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftNo. I do not contemplate introducing legislation to control the prices of fertilisers. I am informed that recent increases in the prices 33W of fertilisers are attributable to increases in costs, particularly of transport and coal.
