§ Mr. H. Fraserasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what negotiations are now proceeding for the payment of compensation, as promised at the time of the 1954 Agreement with Egypt, to those British subjects dismissed from their employment without proper termination of contract by the Egyptian Government.
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerIn accordance with the Exchange of Letters annexed to the Anglo-Egyptian Agreement, the Egyptian Government set up a Commission to assess the amount of reparation which the British officials who were dismissed from Egyptian Government employment in 1951 could have obtained in a court of law. I understand that the Commission has recently completed its task and that its recommendations have been submitted to the Egyptian Government.
