62. Mrs. Jegerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether, in view of the increase in new office accommodation in central London, he will take powers to require applications for planning consent when there is a change of occupier in a residential property now being used for office purposes, for which at present no consent is required under the established user dispensation.
§ Mr. SandysThe approved County of London Development Plan provides that when temporary permissions for the use of residential property for other purposes expire, they will not be renewed, and that property still capable of residential use is not to be turned over to office use even in those parts of London reserved for offices. Various other possible methods were considered of dealing with this problem, including the one suggested by the hon. Lady, to which there are, however, practical objections.
