§ 45. Mr. Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether he will give details of the civil servants and other Government staff that accompanied him to Bradford on 18th January, 1956 and what was the cost to the public funds.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI have been asked to reply. As has long been the practice, my right hon. Friend was accompanied by one of his private secretaries and a secretary to assist him in the transaction of normal Government business. Their travel and subsistence fell on public funds. He also had a personal secretary with him whose expenses do not, of course, fall on public funds.
