HC Deb 21 February 1956 vol 549 c24W
96. Mr. Parkin

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many trade associations are recognised by his Department for purposes of discussion or negotiation on matters concerning their members; and what was the figure in 1946 and 1936.

Mr. Walker-Smith

Any trade association can approach the Board of Trade on matters affecting its members. There is no definite list of trade associations consulted by the Department. I regret, therefore, that I cannot give the hon. Member the figures for which he asks.
