HC Deb 21 February 1956 vol 549 c31W
Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Postmaster-General how long letters sent by Forces Air Mail take to reach destinations in the United Kingdom; and what steps he proposes to take to improve this service.

Dr. Hill

The time varies with the distance from the United Kingdom: letters from Germany take about two days, those from Korea about a week. I am not aware of any general dissatisfaction with this service. In the case of which the hon. Member has sent me details, delay was caused by failure of an aircraft.
