asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is now in a position to announce the membership of the Cumbernauld New Town Corporation.

Yes, I am glad to say that General Sir Gordon Macmillan, K.C.B., K.C.V.O., has agreed to serve as Chairman, and Mr. Alexander Gordon, C.I.E., as Deputy Chairman of the Corporation.

The other members who have agreed to serve are:

  • Councillor Mrs. Jean Roberts
  • Sir Robert Russell, C.S.I., C.I.E.
  • Mr. T. R. Patterson, C.B.E.
  • Professor Robert Browning
  • Mr. T. F. Coughtrie
  • Mr. D. H. Taggart.
