HC Deb 09 February 1956 vol 548 c214W
93. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he has completed the examination of the new device submitted to his Department which combines the lighting of pedestrian crossings with the flashing beacon; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Molson

I understand that the hon. and gallant Member refers to certain experiments conducted in Croydon. The principle involved was examined and rejected as unsound before the present form of pedestrian crossing was adopted, and examination of the experiments in Croydon has not altered this conclusion.
