HC Deb 09 February 1956 vol 548 c214W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he is satisfied that there is sufficient consultation with other Commonwealth Governments with a view to the maintenance of British and other Commonwealth interests in Antarctica and the sovereignty claimed over parts thereof by the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries; and if he will make a statement.

Commander Noble

Yes. We are in constant touch with other interested Commonwealth Governments over the whole field of our and their Antarctic interests. In recent months there have been additional consultations on the programme of the privately organised Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition.
