§ 73. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement regarding the trial and sentence by the Ethiopian authorities at Harar of Mohammed Begorreh, the Chief Local Authority of Hargeisa, and spiritual Head of the Moslem Community.
§ Mr. NuttingMohammed Begorreh was convicted on 21st December by the Provincial Court at Harar on the charges of raising money for the purposes of a secret society and insulting the Ethiopian Government. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment. An appeal has now been lodged with the High Court in Addis Ababa.
