HC Deb 01 February 1956 vol 548 cc112-3W
62. Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement on the subject of the Somali case at the United Nations; and what action Her Majesty's Government will take following his recent discussion with the Somali deputation leaders.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

No proposal was put before the General Assembly to inscribe an item relating to the Somali petition on its agenda. The matter was not therefore discussed.

With regard to the second part of the Question, I would refer the right hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Brigg (Mr. E. L. Mallalieu) on 25th January.
