§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe reactors in the early nuclear power stations will be of the same type as those at Calder Hall but with considerably increased capacity. This type of reactor is believed to be capable of further development and should hold the field for some years. The Atomic Energy Authority is studying a number of other reactor systems for possible application in the later stages of the power programme, but it is not yet possible to say which types are likely to be selected.
