§ 84. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the number of members of the Northern Rhodesian African Congress who are members of the Legislative Council; the numbers who sit upon other official councils, stating what these particular councils are; and how he will ensure that their views upon future constitutional change will be obtained.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThere are four members of the African National Congress in the Legislative Council. I am asking the Governor how many known members of Congress are on the African Representative Council, the six African Provincial Councils, the Native Authority Councils and the Urban Advisory Councils and I will write to the hon. Member. As for the assurance sought I have nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Member on 28th November.
