HC Deb 11 December 1956 vol 562 c24W
Sir W. Wakefield

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress he has made in remodelling the structure of Entertainments Duty in accordance with the undertaking given during the course of the Committee stage of the Finance (No. 2) Bill, 1955.

Mr. H. Brooke

My right hon. Friend has undertaken a comprehensive review of the whole structure of the Entertainments Duty. Progress has been made, but I cannot anticipate the outcome of the review: any alteration in the duty would, of course, be a matter for a Budget.
