HC Deb 05 December 1956 vol 561 cc122-3W
68. Mrs. Castle

asked the Minister of Defence whether, in view of the fact that the British Broadcasting Corporation has ceased monitoring the "Voice of Britain" broadcasts from Cyprus, he will arrange for copies of the scripts of broadcasts from this station to be placed in the Library of the House of Commons.

Mr. Head

The material broadcast by the "Voice of Britain" Station is provided partly by the B.B.C. and partly by the Foreign Office. The translation from Arabic of the scripts for which the Foreign Office is responsible would be a formidable task, but I understand from my right hon. and learned Friend the Foreign Secretary that if there is a general desire among Members for these transcripts he will arrange for them to be made available in the Library. As regards the B.B.C. scripts, the hon. Member should approach the Corporation.
