§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what capital development grants, as intended for farming under the policy set out in the White Paper, Command No. 23, will be available to horticulturists seeking to provide more economical heating for glasshouses.
§ Mr. J. StuartAs stated in paragraph 25 of the White Paper, grants will be available for general buildings on horticultural holdings comparable with those found on agricultural holdings. The discussions with the industry mentioned in my right hon. Friend's announcement on 27th November are still continuing and it will take some time to work out the details. Representations about grants for heating glasshouses have been made. The question will no doubt be raised in the course of the discussions.
