HC Deb 25 April 1956 vol 551 cc149-50W
45. Mr. Moss

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will give an estimate of the quantity of uranium 235 and plutonium which could be made available for use in nuclear reactors constructed by British firms at home or abroad over the next few years.

Mr. R. A. Butler

Supplies of uranium 235 and plutonium are limited and have to be shared between defence and civil needs, but the Atomic Energy Authority inform me that they expect to be able to meet the reasonable needs of industry as they occur.
