§ Mr. HareThe latest available figures of revenue accruing to Colonial Governments from State lotteries are: Malta—£297,676 in the year ended 31st March, 1954; Gibraltar—£100,563 in the year ended 31st December, 1954.

§ Mr. HareGovernment lotteries exist in Malta and Gibraltar, and are planned by the Governments of St. Lucia and the Western Region of Nigeria. In the Federation of Malaya there is a Social and Welfare Services Lotteries Board established by Ordinance and appointed by the High Commissioner in Council, which promotes public lotteries for social and welfare purposes which may or may not be Governmental. Premium bond issues have been made in Cyprus, the Federation of Malaya, Fiji, Gold Coast and Jamaica.
