Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now announce the name of the Chairman and the terms of reference of the Committee to look into the problems of the meat and livestock industries.

Mr. Amory

Yes. I am glad to be able to inform the House that Sir George Wilson, who is the Chairman of the governing body of the West of Scotland Agricultural College, has agreed to act as Chairman of this Committee.

The Committee's terms of reference will be: To keep under review the technical problems arising at all stages in the production of livestock for food and its conversion into meat and meat products; to inform the Ministers of problems requiring research; to advise on desirable technical developments and on the best means of co-ordinating the dissemination of information on them and encouraging their adoption.
