Mr. AmoryI understand from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons that in the United Kingdom, approximately 2,800 veterinary surgeons are in private practice and 1,100 in the whole-time employment of Government Departments, local authorities, research institutes and similar bodies. Many of the veterinary surgeons in private practice are employed by Government Departments from time to time on a fee-basis.
