HC Deb 19 April 1956 vol 551 c93W
3. Mr. Fernyhough

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that highly qualified but elderly persons are finding difficulty in securing employment owing to the high medical standards required for inclusion in superannuation schemes; and if he will hold consultations with all sections of industry with a view to overcoming this difficulty.

Mr. Carr

I am not aware of the particular difficulty to which the hon. Member has drawn attention. I understand that insurance companies are prepared to consider sympathetically requests for adjustments to pension schemes to meet the requirements of older workers.
