I am unable to make such an estimate.

asked the Minister of Labour by how much he estimates the cost of living will rise due to the recently announced increases in postal and telephone charges.

Mr. Carr

I estimate that the direct effect will be equivalent to a rise of less than one-tenth of 1 per cent. in the Index of Retail Prices.
