asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what were the Governor's proposals in relation to official representation on the Council Negri of Sarawak.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The proposals for a new constitution, moved by an unofficial member and unanimously approved by Council, provide for fourteenex officio members, for four members who may be officials or unofficials to be nominated by the Governor to represent interests not represented or inadequately represented, and for twenty-four unofficial members elected by divisional and other councils.
