§ Mr. Shurmerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why, after refusing for eighteen months to register certain small wholesalers for Purchase Tax, the officers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise visited these firms on Budget Day with a certificate of registration; and why uniform treatment has not been meted out in this respect, in that the wholesaling branches of certain multiple concerns dealing largely in taxable goods have still not been compelled to register.
