Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I have approved proposals for the South of Scotland Electricity Board for an issue of stock for the purpose of repaying temporary advances from the Scottish banks, of defraying further capital expenditure and for other authorised purposes. Accordingly the Board have today made the following issue of stock at £97 7s. 6d. per cent. to the National Debt Commissioners under Treasury Guarantee: £15 million of 4½ per cent. South of Scotland Electricity Guaranteed Stock 1967–1969.
