Pannellasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that in the Liverpool region there are two mental hospitals which collectively have 350 beds 5W vacant through lack of staff; and if he is satisfied that the same difficulty will not arise in connection with the new accommodation envisaged at Greaves Hall.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodMy information is that the number of vacant beds is not 350 but 114. There may well be difficulty in staffing Greaves Hall, but I am hopeful that with the help of my right non. and learned Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service, the regional hospital board will succeed in overcoming the difficulty.
