§ Mr. Sorensen
asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the total number of cases of irregular treatment of Mau Mau suspects in custody or undergoing sentence; what further action has been taken to prevent a recurrence of these irregularities; what further evidence was presented which led to an increased term of imprisonment for those convicted of irregularity; and how many Mau Mau attacks on persons or property have been recorded during the past six months.197W
§ Mr. Lennox-Boyd
On the first point, I am still in consultation with the Governor on certain matters of detail so that my reply may be complete and up to date, and I will circulate a further reply as soon as possible. During the past six months 1,382 attacks by Mau Mau have been recorded. On the remaining points I would refer the hon. Member to the statements I made on 26th October about the case of Kamau Kichina.
