§ 72. Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make an announcement about the request put to him by a deputation in July that a Royal Commission or Departmental committee should be appointed to inquire into the relationship between the statutory and voluntary social services dealing with the family.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeThe proposal which was made by this deputation goes a good deal further than is indicated in the hon. Member's Question and raises points on which consultation with a number of my colleagues is necessary. Until this consultation has been completed, I am not in a position to make any announcement.
