HC Deb 03 November 1955 vol 545 c141W
Mr. Hunter

asked the Postmaster-General how many applicants are waiting in the Hounslow area to have telephones installed; and whether he will speed up this service and end the delay.

Dr. Hill

One thousand eight hundred and eighty-six applications are outstanding. A new exchange is being built to relieve Hounslow exchange and will be completed in about 2½ years' time. New cables will be laid during 1956 and 1957.
