HC Deb 03 November 1955 vol 545 c137W
87. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Education the approximate weekly saving per child to local authorities by the issue of milk in tablet or powder form; to what extent this practice has increased or decreased during the past year; and what he is doing to stop this undesirable practice.

Mr. Vosper

Milk in these forms is supplied only to schools where no suitable supply of fresh milk is available. There has been no significant change in the number of schools during the past year, apart from the elimination of a large group that was affected by a price dispute a year ago. This does not yield any significant saving.
