HC Deb 04 May 1955 vol 540 c137W
83. Mr. Brockway

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance why the National Assistance grant to Mr. and Mrs. Hollyman, 18, Harvey Road, Langley, Slough, old-age pensioners, was reduced from 17s. a week to 2s. 6d. from 25th April last.

Mr. Marples

The income of Mr. and Mrs. Hollyman has remained unchanged since 7th February, 1955, when their Assistance was increased. Their Assistance was adjusted on 25th April by 14s. 6d. because their retirement pensions were then increased by this amount.
