§ 80. Mr. R. Harrisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will consider compulsory elementary Civil Defence training for all adult members of the population, in view of the need for everyone to play his or her part in wartime conditions.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeI do not think that compulsion would be appropriate in this field, but it is the Government's intention, as a result of the general review of Civil Defence which is at present in38W progress, to see that full information is given to the public as to the measures proposed to mitigate the effects of attack of the kind described in the White Paper on Defence.
