§ 72. Mr. Remnant
asked the President of the Board of Trade what conditions are laid down for the protection of industry and the public when making a grant annually to the British Standards Institution.
§ Mr. H. Strauss
My right hon. Friend is confident that no action on his part is required to ensure that the British Standards Institution shall have full regard to the interests of industry and of the public. I would remind my hon. Friend 109W that only one-third of the Institution's funds comes from public sources, and that its accounts are open to inspection by the Comptroller and Auditor General.
