HC Deb 09 March 1955 vol 538 cc48-9W
70. Mrs. L. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many people living in Malaya are technically stateless; and how many of them are Chinese.

Mr. Hopkinson

My right hon. Friend does not know the number, but he would expect it to be very small. It is unlikely that any Chinese living in Malaya are stateless since I understand that under Chinese Law all children of a Chinese father wherever born are citizens of China.
