HC Deb 09 March 1955 vol 538 cc42-3W
61. Mr. Willey

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies on what grounds missionaries of the organisation known as Jehovah's Witnesses have been refused admission to Trinidad.

Mr. Hopkinson

The Government of Trinidad decided last year that no further representatives of the Society should be permitted to enter the Colony, since experience has shown that its teachings can be detrimental to public order and security. The Society already has 11 representatives in the Colony.
