§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if the plan for improving the London-Glasgow trunk road in the County of Lanark, particularly the Crawford and Larkhall-Hamilton by-passes, has now been approved; and on what dates he expects work to start.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThe improved line of this trunk road in Lanarkshire has been surveyed throughout and Orders under the Trunk Roads Acts have been made fixing the lines of by-passes and diversions, including the Crawford and Larkhall-Hamilton by-passes. No detailed drawings have been prepared except for the length from Auldton Heights to a point 1.7 miles south of Millbank. As regards the second part of the Question, I am not at present in a position to go be yound what was included in my statement of 2nd February.
