§ Mr. WatkinsonI am satisfied that these committees, which are appointed by virtue of Section 1 (2) of the Employment and Training Act, 1948, serve a most useful purpose. They provide employment exchanges with local knowledge and advice, and keep them in close touch with industry in each area. The total cost in 1954 was about £5,000.
