Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what investigations he has made into safety provisions in stock car racing in this country; and if he will introduce legislation to provide minimum safety standards and giving powers to local authorities or police authorities to license such meetings.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeI considered this matter some months ago, but in the light of the information which I obtained about the existing precautions, I was not satisfied that legislation was required. I will, however, review the matter in the light of further inquiries which I propose to make.
