§ 54. Dr. Stross
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has noted that, in the United States of America, the Federal Civil Defence Administration has been instructed to 43W develop plans for combating the fall-out hazards of nuclear bombs; and what steps are being taken in Britain to combat these hazards.
§ Major Lloyd-George
Yes. As the White Paper on Defence made plain, a complete overhaul of our home defence plans is being undertaken with particular regard to the extensive radio-active contamination which might result from the fall-out of a ground burst hydrogen bomb.
