Mrs. Castleasked the Minister of Defence what steps he took before com piling his Statement on Defence for 1955 to procure from the United States Atomic Energy Commission the information sub sequently made public in their report re leased on 15th February last on the effects of high-field nuclear explosions.
§ Mr. H. MacmillanThe hon. Lady is no doubt aware of the limitations which United States legislation places on interchange of information on this aspect of defence. Nevertheless, I think that the statements on this subject made in the Statement on Defence for 1955 are consistent with what has been published in the United States.
