74. Mr. H. Wilsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the serious effects on textile exports and the home trade of the Purchase Tax on textiles and clothing; whether he is aware in particular that production of some important export lines such as two-fold poplins has now almost entirely ceased; and whether he will take immediate action to remove the tax entirely from textiles and clothing.
